Social Change Consulting has been fortunate to have worked with many amazing nonprofit organizations over the last year. Below is a handful of organizations that we have worked with and several that we support individually.
Alliance for Smiles

Alliance for Smiles offers children and families with cleft anomalies hope for a bright future. They work to repair children’s broken smiles by providing free, comprehensive cleft treatment, in under-served areas of the world – transforming their lives forever.
Hopalong Animal Rescue

Hopalong rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes shelter animals on euthanasia lists throughout Northern California and beyond. They take a multifaceted approach to finding permanent, stable and loving homes for rescued pets: they are fostered in a home environment, evaluated for temperament, and many receive basic training to make them better companions for the people who will ultimately take them home.
Huckleberry Youth Programs (HYP)

HYP focuses on four primary areas of service and seek to strengthen families and empower youth by providing safety options in times of crisis, physical and emotional health services, guidance in areas of social justice, and providing support to youth to ensure educational success. HYP celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017 and continues to be a primary resource for families and youth in San Francisco County.
Literacy for Environmental Justice (LEJ)

LEJ promotes ecological health, environmental stewardship, and community development in Southeast San Francisco by creating urban greening, eco-literacy, community stewardship, and workforce development opportunities. They have a small team that is doing awesome work that will have a long-term impact in Bayview/Hunters Point.
Milo Foundation

Milo Foundation provides an alternative for homeless pets throughout California, and occasionally beyond. Milo provides community education, volunteer opportunities, adoption services and provides Sanctuary for animals needing more time and space to have a quality of life until the special homes they need can be found
Orion Academy

Orion Academy is a day school designed to provide a comprehensive program for high school students whose academic success is compromised by a neurocognitive disability. Orion was great to work with and dedicated to their students. Orion offers these students a program uniquely tailored to their strengths and needs. Their program is designed to target individual social growth, transitions skills and academic excellence for students with neurocognitive disabilities.

Positive Images is a youth lead grassroots nonprofit organization serving Sonoma County since 1990. Their mission is to provide support and advocacy to Sonoma County’s LGBTQ+ youth and young adults, and educate the greater community.
Other Organizations That We Support
Anika – Rahab’s Sisters – They are a small primarily volunteer-run nonprofit with only one paid employee. Their mission is to provide radical hospitality to those marginalized by poverty, houselessness, sex work, violence, or substance abuse in the Portland, OR area. Every Friday Rahab’s Sisters opens their doors to anyone who identifies as a woman, or whose gender identity makes them vulnerable. All are encouraged to come as they are to share a homemade meal seated together. They offer basic supplies like underwear, tampons, soap, and other hygiene essentials. But the real story of Rahab’s Sisters is the community they create together every week through activities, conversations, and human connection. Justin – Jackson Orthopedic Foundation – JOF is dedicated to improving the lives of people with musculoskeletal conditions through education, research, and service. Nick – CARE – CARE is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty with a mission is to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities in the world. They work to facilitate lasting change by: strengthening capacity for self-help; providing economic opportunity; delivering relief in emergencies; influencing policy decisions at all levels; and addressing discrimination in all its forms. They also place special focus on working alongside poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty.
