About Us

Social Change Consulting is committed to helping the world, and our communities, be safer and more just. We have been working with nonprofits and foundations since 2012.

Our clients create social change. And we love helping them. We help organizations grow, overcome challenges, and plan for the future. Each member of our team brings their own unique experience and diverse perspectives. Our work has helped organizations to solve problems, create new initiatives, grow existing programs, strengthen how they tell their story, and reach new audiences.

We are here for you. Send us a note to chat about how we can support your work.

Our Core Team

Why Us

We Get Results

When starting a new project, we’ll work with you to outline the goals and objectives that align with your specific needs. This not only provides transparency, but also ensures that you have metrics to evaluate our work.

A few examples of the results of our work:

  • When creating a year-end giving campaign, SCC helped a client increase the number of donations in Q4 over the year before by 250%, the amount of income by 211%, and the number of recurring gifts by 320%.
  • By strengthening data capture at volunteer events, incorporating digital sign-ups, and cleaning up data integrity, SCC helped a client grow their email list 840% over four years. This process helped increase their volunteer participation at community events by 370% over that time.
  • By designing an organizational style guide and templates for documents, flyers, and presentations, we saved a client over 140 hours of staff time and increased engagement on their social media by 35%.

Our Clients Love Working with Us

Even though most of our projects are short-term, our clients keep coming back! We consistently hear positive feedback about our work, including that clients love having us as an extension of their team. They also appreciate that we cater to their specific communication style needs and that we stay in touch about the status, progress, and goals of our projects.

Data from our projects include:

  • 84% of clients hire SCC for additional support after our initial project ends.
  • 100% of clients stated in a post-project poll that they would recommend working with SCC to a friend or colleague at another nonprofit organization.

We Understand Your Budget (Or Lack Thereof)

Prior to joining Social Change Consulting, 80% of the folks on our team worked in a leadership role at nonprofit organizations. We know what it’s like to manage nonprofit budgets and hire outside contractors to support our team. We know there are limitations, especially during a global pandemic and economic recession.

We work hard to ensure that our projects are budget-friendly. We create customized proposals that can be project-based or hourly-based, depending upon your needs. We have also created targeted micro-projects to help with needs that are especially important for nonprofits trying to keep their work going during these challenging times.

Your Mission Is Our Mission

We are dedicated to supporting the people and organizations that are improving the world. If you’re interested in working with us, please send us a note at info@socialchangeconsulting.org or fill out this form.

Our Story

The idea of Social Change Consulting began over a beer in 2011. Justin Clark and Niki Kidd, friends and former colleagues at the American Cancer Society, were catching up after Niki had left ACS to work at YouTube. As they chatted about their jobs, Justin casually said, “Wouldn’t it be great to take what we’ve learned and help small nonprofits?” Within two days, Niki sent sample business plans, client research, and examples of other nonprofit consultants for inspiration.

They launched Social Change Consulting in 2012 and SCC has been working with amazing organizations that are improving the world and supporting their communities ever since. While Niki has gone on to complete her MBA at the prestigious Kellogg School of Management and is currently bringing her social impact insights to Sanguine Biosciences, SCC has grown into the small and mighty team they are today. Working from Berlin, Oakland, San Diego, San Francisco, SCC serves nonprofits and foundations in the United States and around the world.
