- Ruth McCambridge from NPQ looks at the fallout from the Humane Society of the United States board decision and how nonprofit boards are handling sexual harassment.
- Jeff Brooks from Future Fundraising Now shared a great image that helped him think about the fundraising process.
- Unicef created a pretty innovative fundraising campaign. They recruited gamers to “mine” the cryptocurrency Ethereum to raise money for Syrian children. Read more from Peter Beaumont from the Guardian.
- Alfred Lau wrote a post in Buffer that explains how Twitter’s timeline works and makes recommendations on how to increase your reach.
- Charities in the UK have access to a new service, Good Thyngs, which allows individuals to make instant donations via their phone or mobile device by scanning a QR code. Howard Lake from UK Fundraising provides more information.

Political News
- Two articles this week did an excellent job explaining how the budget crisis is affecting Community Health Centers, which provide health care services for more than 25 million people. Read more from Laura Santhanam at PBS NewsHour and Jonathan Cohn at HuffPost.
- In a political story that will frighten charities working on environmental and health issues, GOP politicians are threatening to cut off US funding to the World Health Organization’s cancer research program because the program found that the active ingredient in the herbicide Roundup is probably carcinogenic to humans. Michael Biesecker from AP shares the details.
- Ruth McCambridge (second article here) and Patrick Rooney from NPQ investigate donor-advised funds and how the recent tax overhaul may have affected them.
- The Parents for Transgender Equality Council representing Human Rights Campaign (HRC) sent a letter to Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos condemning her failure to protect transgender students. Over 700 parents signed the letter. Read more in this HRC blog post written by Allison Turner.
