“The White House officials want Trump to strike an ambitious deal with Congress that offers Dreamers protection in exchange for legislation that pays for a border wall and more detention facilities, curbs legal immigration and implements E-verify, an online system that allows businesses to check immigration status,”

  • Patrick Gillespie of CNN Money discusses the reason why there are record-number of available jobs (6.2 million) and why they’re often going unfilled. One of the reasons is that unemployed workers lack the training for available jobs. This could worsen, as President Trump’s proposed budget cuts funding for job training programs by $1.1 billion, or 40%.
  • Based on a letter received by an Associate Professor at Northeastern University in Boston, it appears as if the US Department of Energy is asking grant recipients to remove the terms “climate change” and “global warming” from abstracts. Shared on Twitter by Dr. Yana Weinstein.
