About Us
Annemarie Henning – Art Director
Annemarie (she, her) is a freelance art director/graphic designer who creates quality design solutions that deliver strong messages for non-profits and small businesses and their brands. Her love for words came first (as a young journalist striving to make the words count, not the word count), then came her desire to bring words and images together to communicate ideas and organize information. She thrives on the creative process, connecting the dots along the way with strong communication and collaboration to deliver successful design solutions. Aside from the gamut of design assets, Annemarie provides creative marketing strategy, art direction, project management, and delivery of engaging brand experiences that meet business/constituent needs and brand identity standards. As a believer of doing work that matters, she’s thrilled to partner with Social Change Consulting.
Prior to the freelance world, for 15+ years Annemarie was part of the American Cancer Society’s in-house Creative/Marketing Communications team, where she honed her creative communications skills in various roles leading the creative strategy and execution for fundraising and cancer awareness initiatives. Annemarie earned her MFA in graphic design at the Academy of Art University.
When not designing, Annemarie can be found running with her local running club, watching Oakland A’s baseball, and supporting local political activism. Check out Annemarie’s work at amhenning.com and connect with her on LinkedIn.

Is It Time to Refresh Your Nonprofit’s Brand?

Why Us
We Get Results
When starting a new project, we’ll work with you to outline the goals and objectives that align with your specific needs. This not only provides transparency, but also ensures that you have metrics to evaluate our work.
A few examples of the results of our work:
- When creating a year-end giving campaign, SCC helped a client increase the number of donations in Q4 over the year before by 250%, the amount of income by 211%, and the number of recurring gifts by 320%.
- By strengthening data capture at volunteer events, incorporating digital sign-ups, and cleaning up data integrity, SCC helped a client grow their email list 840% over four years. This process helped increase their volunteer participation at community events by 370% over that time.
- By designing an organizational style guide and templates for documents, flyers, and presentations, we saved a client over 140 hours of staff time and increased engagement on their social media by 35%.
Our Clients Love Working with Us
Even though most of our projects are short-term, our clients keep coming back! We consistently hear positive feedback about our work, including that clients love having us as an extension of their team. They also appreciate that we cater to their specific communication style needs and that we stay in touch about the status, progress, and goals of our projects.
Data from our projects include:
- 84% of clients hire SCC for additional support after our initial project ends.
- 100% of clients stated in a post-project poll that they would recommend working with SCC to a friend or colleague at another nonprofit organization.
We Understand Your Budget (Or Lack Thereof)
Prior to joining Social Change Consulting, 80% of the folks on our team worked in a leadership role at nonprofit organizations. We know what it’s like to manage nonprofit budgets and hire outside contractors to support our team. We know there are limitations, especially during a global pandemic and economic recession.
We work hard to ensure that our projects are budget-friendly. We create customized proposals that can be project-based or hourly-based, depending upon your needs. We have also created targeted micro-projects to help with needs that are especially important for nonprofits trying to keep their work going during these challenging times.
Your Mission Is Our Mission
We are dedicated to supporting the people and organizations that are improving the world. Our clients create social change. And we love helping them. If you’re interested in working with us, please send us a note at info@socialchangeconsulting.org or fill out this form.
